Greetings, my name is Nicholas (Nic) Brown. I have been in the New Zealand Police for 29+ years and have worked in various roles including the Frontline, Training, Intelligence, Road Policing and National Operations. A strength I have is the ability to build enduring partnerships that focus on achieving shared outcomes. With nearly 30 years’ service I have had some interesting experiences, but career highlights must include, working on internationally significant events such as the 2011 Rugby World Cup and Gallipoli Commemorations in Turkey.  I have also significant experience in working on emergency operations including the Pike River Mining disaster, Christchurch Earthquake Reassurance Operation, the Kaikoura Earthquake response, and the Police response to the Terrorist Attack in Christchurch on March 15, 2019. I have a master’s degree in Public Management and belong to the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the Institute of Public Administration, and the New Zealand Institute of Directors. In my downtime I enjoy fishing and boating with my wife of 27 years and my 3 adult sons

Julian is seconded to the PICP Secretariat from the Australian Federal Police (AFP) where he has spent the past 25 years in a range of operational policing roles domestically and internationally. He has most recently been the responsible Detective for the Transnational Serious and Organised Crime (TSOC) Joint Task Forces in Melbourne, working alongside International, Commonwealth and State law enforcement partners. Between 2019 to 2021 Julian was the AFP’s Senior Officer at the Australian High Commission in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.  This role saw Julian partnering with Pacific law enforcement partners and the Pacific Transnational Crime Network to combat TSOC in the Pacific. For his service in PNG, Julian was awarded the Commissioner's Medal for Conspicuous Conduct in recognition of his sustained professionalism, commitment, and excellence in the pursuit of the AFP’s offshore efforts in combatting transnational, serious and organised crime. Julian has also served in the Solomon Islands, East Timor and Indonesia. Julian holds a Master’s Degree in International Development and his interests include hiking, mountain biking and travelling to experience other cultures.

Salote is a proud Niuean who joins us from NZ Police. During her time in NZ Police she worked as an advisor in the Ministerial and International Service Groups (ISG), where she gained an extensive knowledge of NZ Police’s activities in the Pacific region. Most recently, she developed the design of NZ Police’s first bilateral policing programmes with Tonga Police and the Vanuatu Police Force. In 2015 she received an MA in Political Science, and also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Development Studies, International Relations and Political Science from Victoria University of Wellington. Her interests include the security, development and politics of the Pacific Region.

Mary is seconded into the PICP Secretariat until June 2023. In her 14 years with Police Mary has worked for a number of groups including the Police National Dive Squad, Response and Operations and the National Prevention Centre. She has also assisted with the Police logistical response to a number of major operations including the Christchurch Mosque shootings and the Whakaari / White Island disaster. Mary holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration degree from Victoria University and in her spare time is a keen runner and sports fan.

Enoka is a New Zealand Police Cyber Security Specialist based in the Pacific Islands Chiefs of Police Secretariat, providing technical support to the Cyber Safety Pasifika (CSP) Programme, which is led by the Australia Federal Police. He is a New Zealander of Samoan/Chinese heritage and is fluent in Samoan. He has spent the past four years working as a Digital Forensics Analyst with the Digital Forensic Unit in the High Tech Crime Group within NZ Police. Enoka holds an international certification and is recognised as a Computer Forensics Certification Examiner (CFCE) which was completed from the International Association of Computer Investigative Specialist (IACIS). He is a big Hurricanes and All Blacks rugby fan, and likes to get out to fly his drone to create aerial 3D imagery.
